'Emotion' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Emotion') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The woody stems stay above ground through winter, so you can leave them in place and prune lightly in spring. Cut stems bring the blooms indoors.

Pairs well with Coralbells, Blue grama, and Stargazer lily.
