Notes

'Empress' clematis (Clematis 'Empress') is a vine for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Light pink blooms carry deep pink stripes and appear in spring, summer, and autumn. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Mogens Nyegaard Olesen bred it as a sport of 'Josephine' in 2004.

Pairs well with Jackmanii clematis, New Dawn rose, and Garden phlox.
