Notes

English hawthorn (Crataegus laevigata) is a tree for hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil of most types. It grows 15 to 20 feet tall and wide, so give it room. White flowers open in spring and again in autumn. Butterflies and birds visit the tree.

Pairs well with Crab apple, Royal Star star magnolia, May Night salvia, and Gladiator ornamental onion.
