Notes

Blue eryngo (Eryngium planum) is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. Steel blue flowers open from early to late summer and again in early autumn, and bees and butterflies visit them. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Protect the clump from winter wet.

Pairs well with Silver sage, Feather reed grass, Creeping thyme, and Blue grama.
