Notes

Eryngo (Eryngium aquaticum) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, rain gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to wet, sandy or loamy soil. The stiff, upright stems grow 3 to 4 feet tall and carry flowers in unique, globular heads. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit it.

Pairs well with Blue wild indigo, Hardy hibiscus, and Big bluestem.
