Notes

'Esther' grape hyacinth (Muscari 'Esther') is a bulb for borders, containers, rock gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows about 6 inches tall and bears white flowers in early to late spring that bees and butterflies visit. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Paul van Bentem Bloembollen B.V. bred it.

Pairs well with Greig's tulip, Obsidian coral bells, and Blue fescue.
