Notes

'Etoile de Lyon' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Etoile de Lyon') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Joanon bred it, and the source lists Ruitton & Rivière in 1906. Cut stems for bouquets, and let the woody framework stand through winter.

Pairs well with Moonshine yarrow, Blue grama, and Heather.
