Notes

'Evangeline' lilac (Syringa hyacinthiflora 'Evangeline') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Fragrant flowers open in early to late spring and draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows about 94 to 122 inches tall and wide.

Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Hardy geranium, Mount Hood daffodil, and Clematis.
