Notes

'Exotic Moon' peony (Paeonia 'Exotic Moon') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The double lemon-yellow blooms have dark red flares, open late in the season, and attract butterflies. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. John W. & Dot M. McFarlane bred it, and it first bloomed in 1994.

Pairs well with Star Gazer lily, Burnet, Mountain laurel, and Greig's tulip.
