Notes

'Eye Candy' moss phlox (Phlox subulata 'Eye Candy') is a perennial for rock gardens, borders, ground cover, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It forms a creeping mat that blooms from early to late spring and draws butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It also tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with Little bluestem, Nodding onion, Angelique tulip, and Eastern columbine.
