Notes

'Eyepaint' rose (Rosa 'Eyepaint') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, specimen planting, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. Single red blooms have a white center and yellow stamens, and they smell sweet. Bees visit the flowers from late spring into early autumn. Samuel Darragh bred it in 1975, and thorny stems make a bushy, spreading plant.

Pairs well with Maltese cross, Royal Purple smoketree, The President clematis, and Stargazer lily.
