Notes

'Fairfield' peony (Paeonia 'Fairfield') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Single ruby-red flowers are fragrant, and strong stems hold them erect above dark green leaves. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Don Hollingsworth bred it in 1998.

Pairs well with Eastern columbine, Fire Island hosta, Cheerfulness daffodil, and Western sword fern.
