'Fen Jia Qi Shi' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Fen Jia Qi Shi') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant, single purplish-red flowers open in early to mid spring and fade to pale purplish-pink at the edges. The upright plant reaches about 90 cm at maturity and carries narrow-pointed, yellow-green foliage.
Pairs well with Tiger lily, Cinnamon fern, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
