Notes
'Fire Storm' avens (Geum 'Fire Storm') is a perennial for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Its double, tangerine orange flowers sit on compact plants and bloom in spring and summer. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms.
Pairs well with Munstead lavender, Japanese forest grass, and Karl Foerster feather reed grass.
