Notes

'Firmament' lilac (Syringa vulgaris 'Firmament') is a shrub for cottage gardens, specimen planting, hedges, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. It blooms in early to late spring with fragrant flowers that bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. The shrub also tolerates salt.

Pairs well with Coral Sunset peony, Limelight hydrangea, Cheerfulness daffodil, and Western sword fern.
