Notes

'Flambeau' peony (Paeonia 'Flambeau') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The double blooms are salmon-pink with red shading and purple veining, and they age to lighter shades. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Victor Lemoine & Sons bred it.

Pairs well with Elegans hosta, Blue fescue, Jeana garden phlox, and Nelly Moser clematis.
