Notes

'Flaming Embers' peony (Paeonia 'Flaming Embers') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Blooms open in early to late spring in red and cream with purple touches. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Butterflies visit the flowers, and Derek Irvine bred it.

Pairs well with Elegans hosta, Jeana garden phlox, Greig's tulip, and Big bluestem.
