Notes

'Flaming Silver' Japanese pieris (Pieris japonica 'Flaming Silver') is a shrub for borders, foundation plantings, containers, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Fragrant flowers open in late winter and spring, and bees and butterflies visit them. It sits low on the menu for deer. This slow grower forms a dense, evergreen mound about 35 to 59 inches tall and wide.

Pairs well with Siebold's hosta, Lady fern, and Japanese forest grass.
