Notes

'Katsura' Japanese pieris (Pieris japonica 'Katsura') is a shrub for borders, foundation plantings, specimens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It grows slowly into a dense, evergreen mound about 4 to 5 feet tall and wide. The fragrant flowers draw bees and butterflies. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Korean spice viburnum, Wide Brim hosta, Green Velvet buxus, and Casa Blanca lily.
