'Flaming Youth' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Flaming Youth') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The single flowers are bright red, which makes them easy to spot in a border. Cut the blooms to bring that color indoors. Pfeiffer Nursery bred it.
Pairs well with Eastern columbine, Western sword fern, Pink Impression tulip, and Miss Kim lilac.
