Notes
'Flash' peony (Paeonia 'Flash') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The single, bright red blooms are fragrant and draw butterflies and bees. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Lyman D. Glasscock bred it.
Pairs well with Stained Glass hosta, Standing Ovation little bluestem, Nodding onion, and Polish Spirit clematis.
