Notes

'Focus Flare' peony (Paeonia 'Focus Flare') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The golden-yellow blooms have red shading and darker flares, and they open from early to late spring. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Derek Irvine bred it in 2001.

Pairs well with Jeana garden phlox, Green Spice coral bells, Big bluestem, and Greig's tulip.
