Notes

'Friedrich von Telramund' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Friedrich von Telramund') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Michael Miely bred it. The double, purplish red flowers are 5½ inches wide and bloom late in the season on narrow, upright stems that reach 39 inches tall. The blooms make a good cut flower.

Pairs well with Gooseneck loosestrife, Dalmatian bellflower, and Cinnamon fern.
