Notes

Fritillary (Fritillaria michailovskyi) is a bulb for borders, containers, and naturalized plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Each stem holds one to four pendulous burgundy bells with yellow, flared tips that open in early to late spring and attract bees. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Plant the bulbs where drainage is good.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Ornamental onion, and Comfrey.

Northeastern Turkey and Transcaucasus.
