Notes

Persian lily (Fritillaria persica) is a bulb for naturalized plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Plant the bulb sideways in gritty soil to prevent rotting, and add winter mulch in cool zones. Grape purple, bell-shaped flowers open on tall spikes and turn purple-black with age. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Ornamental onion, Rock rose, and Mountain mint.
