Sir Prize avocado

Garden uses

Notes

'Sir Prize' avocado (Persea americana 'Sir Prize') is a tree for the food garden. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun. It is grown for large, rich green fruit with black skin that ripens in winter and does not oxidize when cut. It needs an A Type avocado nearby for cross pollination.

Pairs well with Loquat, Golden Delicious apple, and Sago palm.
