Notes

'Fury' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Fury') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its medium sized, garnet red double flowers show few stamens and draw the eye from far off. The neat blooms also make good cut flowers, and the dark green leaves and tall stems hold them well. Myron D. Bigger bred it in 1955.

Pairs well with Miss Kim lilac, Prairie dropseed, and Grape hyacinth.
