Notes
'Galena' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Galena') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Edward Auten, Jr bred it in 1948. The deep rose double blooms open in late spring on stiff stems above low foliage. They have exceptional substance, which makes them a good choice for cutting.
Pairs well with Immortality iris, Annabelle hydrangea, Royal fern, and Spanish bluebell.
