Notes
'Gao Yuan Sheng Huo' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Gao Yuan Sheng Huo') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears large, semi-double, purplish red flowers in late spring with a light fragrance. The upright plant can reach about 6½ feet tall, so give it room.
Pairs well with Stella de Oro daylily, Rainforest Sunrise hosta, and Prairie dropseed.
