Notes
'Gene Stratton-Porter' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Gene Stratton-Porter') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The cup-shaped white flowers have fine incurving petals that grow shorter toward the center. They have no stamens or carpels and carry no tints or markings. This tall, upright grower blooms freely and has clean, light green foliage.
Pairs well with Fire and Ice hosta, Sedge, Incrediball Storm Proof smooth hydrangea, and Blue sage.
