Notes

'General Hooker' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'General Hooker') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. H.A. Terry bred it. The large, flat blooms open in early summer with crimson petals and a slight silver tip. Plants grow medium tall, bloom freely, and make good cut flowers.

Pairs well with Pale purple coneflower, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Musk mallow.
