Notes
'Germaine' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Germaine') is a shrub for specimen, accent, and woodland use. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. Reddish-purple flowers open in early to late spring and attract bees and birds. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. The broad form grows slowly and shows fall color.
Pairs well with Smooth hydrangea, Bracken, and Primrose.
