Notes

'Gettysburg' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Gettysburg') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. George Hollis bred it in 1909. The fragrant crimson-pink blooms have green and scarlet streaks and open from late spring to early summer.

Pairs well with Sedge, American Gold Rush black-eyed Susan, and Grape hyacinth.
