Notes

'Giant Maroon' aloalo (Hibiscus 'Giant Maroon') is a perennial for rain gardens and annual beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to wet soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Maroon red flowers open from mid to late summer and into early autumn. The plant grows 36 to 48 inches tall and 24 to 36 inches wide.

Pairs well with Feather reed grass, Golden club, and Blanket flower.
