Notes

'Giant Yellow' marigold (Tagetes erecta 'Giant Yellow') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, containers, and specimen planting. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Tall, strong stems make it a good choice for cut flowers, and the fragrant orange and yellow blooms draw butterflies and hummingbirds. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Birds also visit the plant.

Pairs well with Soleado zinnia, Matucana sweet pea, and Red fescue.
