Notes

'Gilbert Barthelot' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Gilbert Barthelot') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double flowers are silvery pink with slaty tints, and the stamens show. They bloom in early summer on plants up to 35 inches tall. Edouard Doriat bred it.

Pairs well with Miss Kim lilac, Rainbow's End hosta, Stargazer lily, and Cinnamon fern.
