Notes

'Gipsy Queen' clematis (Clematis 'Gipsy Queen') is a vine for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. The velvety purple flowers attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Thomas Cripps and Son bred it from Patens and Jackmanii.

Pairs well with Bobo hydrangea, Obsidian coral bells, and Jeana garden phlox.
