Notes

'Gold Nugget' peony (Paeonia 'Gold Nugget') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The flowers are medium yellow with red flares that darken toward the center and open in early to late spring. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Butterflies also visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Blue wild indigo, Blue-eyed grass, and Greig's tulip.
