Notes

'Golden Gate' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Golden Gate') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Edward Auten, Jr bred it in 1946. The Japanese type blooms are deep pink with a trim yellow center. Each large bloom has good substance.

Pairs well with Dalmatian bellflower, Sedge, and Blue grama.
