Notes

'Golden Guinea' kerria (Kerria japonica 'Golden Guinea') is a shrub for specimen plantings, hedges, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to average, loamy soil. It forms an arching mound that grows at a moderate pace. Golden blooms open from early to late spring and attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Bellwort, Cinnamon fern, Red trillium, and Royal Star star magnolia.
