Notes
'Golden Transparent gage' plum (Prunus domestica 'Golden Transparent gage') is a tree for food gardens and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil. Thomas Rivers bred it in 1890, and it stays small and compact. The tree is self-fertile, and bees and butterflies visit its spring flowers. The yellow fruit has red dots and is grown for fresh eating.
Pairs well with Honeycrisp apple, Hummelo betony, and Gladiator ornamental onion.
