Notes

Gray sedge (Carex grayi) is a grass for borders, rain gardens, woodland gardens, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to wet soil of most types. It grows 24 to 36 inches tall and attracts butterflies and birds. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It also tolerates drought once established.

Pairs well with Great blue lobelia, Cinnamon fern, Inkberry, and River birch.
