Notes
'Greta Kessenich' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Greta Kessenich') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The anemone-type flowers have petaloids so full in the center that they look almost double. Deep pink guard petals frame a dark rose center, and the color fades to white tips. Robert William Tischler bred it.
Pairs well with Iris, Japanese spirea, and Ostrich fern.
