'Guangzhou #3' #3 tea plant (Camellia sinensis 'Guangzhou #3') is a shrub for tea harvests and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry soil. White flowers open in early to mid autumn. For tea, you pluck the top three young leaves from the branch tips during the warmer months. Prune it to any size you like, or let it grow 6 feet or more tall and wide.
Pairs well with Bush clover, Shenandoah switchgrass, and Elfin mother of thyme.
