Notes
'Large Leaf' tea plant (Camellia sinensis 'Large Leaf') is a shrub for hedges, screens, and tea harvests. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry soil. White, cup-shaped flowers open in large numbers in early to mid autumn. The leaves are leathery and serrated, and they make a sweeter, gentler green or white tea. You can prune it to any size, or let it reach 6 feet or more tall and wide.
Pairs well with Leatherleaf mahonia, Shenandoah switchgrass, and Cherokee Brave dogwood.
