Notes

'Karatum' tea plant (Camellia sinensis 'Karatum') is a shrub for containers, hedges, and homegrown tea. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry soil. White to creamy white flowers open in early to mid autumn. Pick only the top three young leaves from each branch tip during the warmer months. You can prune it to any size, so it also works in place of boxwood.

Pairs well with Leatherleaf mahonia, Shenandoah switchgrass, and Elfin mother of thyme.
