Notes

'Gunther' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Gunther') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Single red flowers open from mid to late spring into early summer, with four blooms on each stem. Michael Miely bred it, and the plant spreads as it grows.

Pairs well with Wild bergamot, Tall fescue, and Incrediball hydrangea.
