Notes

'Gypsy Red' peony (Paeonia 'Gypsy Red') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Deep red flowers open in early to late spring and attract butterflies. Derek Irvine bred it in 2001.

Pairs well with Mock orange, Trumpet honeysuckle, and Johnny jump up.
