Notes
'Heart of Knox' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Heart of Knox') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It is a tall plant with small red flowers in a Japanese form. The odd red shade looks bright on a table. Edward Auten, Jr bred it.
Pairs well with Sensation lilac, Royal fern, Pink Impression tulip, and Spanish bluebell.
