Notes

Heartleaf rosemallow (Hibiscus martianus) is a perennial for borders, containers, pollinator gardens, and accent planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its red flowers measure 2 to 3 inches across and sit at the branch tips. It blooms in the hottest part of summer and keeps flowering if no frost comes. Mulch it well in winter to protect the roots.

Pairs well with Passionflower, Texas mountain laurel, and Lemongrass.
